Abstract
A CO2 laser was employed to ablate water droplets provided by a pulsed liquid propellant feeding system. Experimental results indicate that momentum coupling coefficient Cm is increased to 50 × 10-5 N·s·J-1, which is higher than that of air-breathing mode laser propulsion. The measurement data were compared to the results of other authors. The way to improve the performance parameters of laser propulsion with liquid propellants was discussed.
