Abstract

A CO2 laser was used to sinter the copper-matrix green compact, interdiffusion of elements occurred, forming the novel phases such as ε and η which could hardly be seen by conventional sintering. The properties of sintered material were measured, the results are that density, wear resistance and impact toughness are much higher than the conventional sintering.
