Abstract

In order to find out actinomycetes having ability in patulin-producing penicillum, 154 strains of actinomycetes having different colony characteristics were isolated from soils of apple orchard, kiwifruit orchard and vegetable orchard. After screening, 4 strains were selected for further screening because they had high ability in inhibiting the growth of 3 strains of patulin-producing pecillium on the agar medium. Strain C16 showed the highest inhibiting ability by producing 2.33 cm inhibitory diameter in agar plate tests. Based on the morphologic, physiological and biochemical characteristics, C16 was identified as the Order of Actinomycetales, the Family of Micromonosporaceae, and the Genus of Micropolyspora.
