Investigation on Low-Speed Matching Features of Diffusion and Afterburning Mode in Ejector Mode

Abstract

The focus of this study is the rocket based combined cycle (RBCC) engine, one of main power schemes for space aircraft. The paper's focus was on investigating the ejector mode matching features of the RBCC engine when dealing with low incoming flow for the diffusion and afterburning (DAB) mode. The matching features of the engine in DAB mode were obtained. Firstly, the numerical methods that had been adopted was introduced, along with the verification of this method and grid independence. Secondly, a study was conducted to ascertain the matching features of the RBCC engine under the MaO.8 incoming flow condition. Finally, the impact of the inlet on the engine's overall performance was investigated.
