Investigation on CAD system for RBCC propulsion preliminary design

Abstract

The CAD system for Rocket Based Combined Cycle(RBCC)was investigated, which can be used in the preliminary design and scheme analysis. Some critical techniques were analyzed and solved, such as total framework design of the system, extract of geometry characteristic parameters, model of performance analysis, integration of design and calculation, 3-D sculpting and display, and transfer between every functional modules. Based on the ACIS geometry sculpt kernel software, such CAD design platform was built up, and the example analyzed using this platform. The result shows that this CAD platform can be used to effectively design and analyze the RBCC and achieve the integration of parametric design and performance investigation, providing the technique reference for the design of RBCC tester.
