Abstract

This paper proposed an integrated importance based maintenance decision making method to provide reasonable maintenance schemes for decision makers. First, the concept of integrated importance measure (IIM) is introduced and its physical meaning and characteristics in maintenance are discussed. Then, a new maintenance decision making model (MDM) is put forward by extending the influence diagram. The nodes, edges and dependency intensities in it are de scribed. The corresponding modeling and optimization methods based on IIM are also listed. Finally, based on a multi-state series system, a calculation example is applied to demonstrate the IIM based MDM modelling and optimization process. The MDM of example system proves that the proposed model and modelling method can represent related maintenance factors comprehensively. The optimization results of MDM shows that the proposed IIM based method can provide maintenance decision makers with reasonable maintenance schemes.
