Abstract

When the Fluidic Thrust Vector (FTV) nozzle of the aero-engine works, the bleeding and injection of the secondary flow both have an impact on the component-matching and engine performance. To study the effect of FTV nozzle on the aero-engine performance, the processes that air bleeds from fan/high pressure compressor (HPC) and that the air injects into the nozzle expansion section were considered. Based on the aero- engine component-matching and CFD technology, the influence of secondary flow on aero-engine performance was simulated. The results show that the performance of the engine decreases observably whether the secondary flow bleeds from fan or HPC. The secondary flow bleeding from fan is more suitable for FTV nozzle, when its pressure can meet the requirements.
