Abstract
Microstructure and Jc-B properties of Bi(2223)/Ag tapes were investigated. It is found that the intermediate pressing and sintering process is favorable for the reduction of impurity phases and the formation of high Tc single phase and the dispersion of impurity phases lead to a stronger connection between grains, as a result, the Jc values are improved. The Jc values at magnetic fields increase with the increase of Jc values at zero field. There are different mechanisms for the flux pinning in the parallel and perpendicular magnetic fields to the specimen surface. The optimum Jc of superconducting Bi(2223)/Ag tapes was presented.
