Abstract

Aiming at improving the performance of air conditioners, we measured and analyzed the flow field of the out-door unit of KFR70-LW/Bd air conditioner made by Chunlan Group in mainland China. We measured the velocity distribution with hot-wire probe and the pressure distribution with total pressure probe. According to the measured data, complicated flow field profiles of the out-door unit were analyzed, including velocity profiles and pressure profiles. We find that the velocity distributions at fan inlet is distorted, and the velocity distributions at fan outlet is swirling. These data can be used to optimize the fan shape and the structure of its heat exchanger, thus improving the performance of its heat exchanger.
