Abstract

An explosion experiment was conducted in a deep part of the South China Sea, and the measured peak pressure and sound exposure level (SEL) are presented in this note. The peak pressures agree well with previous studies. An empirical equation to predict the SEL of deep-water explosions is also presented. This equation agrees well with the spherical expansion rule.
