Abstract
An actively controlled elastic support/dry friction damper was designed and investigated experimentally for its effectiveness of reducing rotor vibration. It is proven that the active damper can effectively reduce rotor vibration by an active control strategy. Experimental results show that the damper features simple construction, ease-of-control and little power consumption. So, such an actively controlled elastic support/dry friction damper is promising in practical application.
