Abstract

A experimental system for six-tube air-breathing pulse detonation engine (PDE) with the single tube's inner diameter of 68mm was designed. Using gasoline as fuel and air as oxidizer, multi-cycle experimental study was successfully performed. The results show that all of the six tubes can obtain continuous detonation waves. The interaction among the tubes is not obvious and the engine can work synchronously and stably. The research results are very helpful to engineering applications of multi-tube PDE.
