Abstract
For the research of the dynamic combustion process at the surface and out of the burning surface of aluminum in the AP/HTPB propellant, the optical imaging methods with the long focal distance microscope, SLR camera and high-speed camera were adopted. The movement and combustion of aluminum droplet from propellant burning surface were obtained with normal temperature and pressure experiment. In the 0. 3 MPa closed experimental device, a single aluminum droplet combustion was photographed with long focal distance microscope and high-speed camera, and its diameter and the flow rate was calculated, which proves the feasibility of the method and lays the foundation for further experimental research at high pressure.
