Experiment on non-coaxial variable thrust pintle solid motor

Abstract

The experimental system of non-coaxiality variable thrust pintle solid motor was designed to carry out variable thrust test pinciple investigation. Structure integrity problem of the pintle in the experiment was resolved. Based on internal ballistic calculation, pressure characteristics of the variable thrust pintle motor were analyzed. Through different motion process experiment of the pintle, pressure characteristics of the pintle motor were investigated. Based on the analysis of experiment results, the major factors affecting pressure climbing were obtained. Test results show that pinciple of the variable thrust pintle motor is feasible, moreover the designed experimental system of non-coaxiality variable thrust pintle solid motor meet experimental investigation demands.
