Abstract
The finite element modeling under compressive static load of repaired composite lamina is reported, and two methods: geometry non-linear method, linear method are applied to compute the stress-strain response of the repaired laminate. Then finite element models are analyzed with the ABAQUS package two-dimensional S8R shell elements. Non-linear geometry effects are taken into account in the presented model. The predicted strain distribution, damage evolution and strength of the laminate are compared with experimental results.
