Abstract

The structure transition in liquid Co76Sn24 alloy has been studied by measuring the magnetization of the metallic melt in high magnetic field. The magnetization of the liquid alloy was in-situ measured in a wide temperature range from nearly 300 °C above the melting point (overheated state) to more than 250 °C below the melting point (supercooled state). A transition point at about 1255 °C is determined from the turning point of the inverse magnetization curve of the liquids. This unique phenomenon is attributed to the structure transition inside the liquid which can be evidenced by the magnetization variations of the liquids.
