Equipotential field simulation for the gas pressure superplastic bulging of axisymmetrical circular sheets

Abstract

The appropriate shape of the bulge-blank is obtained through the reverse educing method (REM), which utilizes the similarity between the blank flowing law and the distributing of isopotential line in the electrostatic field. The restrained super-plasticity bulging process for LY12 alloy blank is studied by using this method, a variety of parameters and variables are calculated and analysed, it is indicated that this method is feasible and fast, its result is credible as compared to the FEM.
