Abstract
Achieving nanoscale, uniformly dispersed TiC after consolidation remains challenging in powder-metallurgy TiC/Ti composites. Using pre-alloyed TiC/Ti composite powders, we applied low-temperature spark plasma sintering and hot extrusion (1073 K) to obtain uniformly dispersed nano-TiC. The composite achieves 941.3 MPa ultimate tensile strength and 22.4% elongation, outperforming a conventional powder-mixing route.
