Abstract

Topology and weights are closely related in weighted complex networks and this is reflected in their modular structure. We present a complex parts network model based on weighted complex network theory that the nodes are parts of the product, the edges are engineering change transfer relations of the parts, the node weights express the complexity of the parts and the edge weights express the connection strength of the parts. A workload evaluation model of engineering change is structured, including direct changes and connected changes of the parts. The model can be used to help engineering change engineers in choosing the optimal engineering change schemes.
