Efficient adaptive side information frame interpolation algorithm

Abstract

Distributed video coding (DVC) is a new coding paradigm that gives decoder to exploit the source statistic to achieve efficient compression. In DVC system, side information plays an important role to reconstruct the Wyner-Ziv frames. To generate the good side information, an adaptive frame interpolation side information algorithm with correlation coefficient for DVC was proposed. Using temporal correlation coefficient between WZ frames and key frames, different weighted values were adopted to reconstruct the side information. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can averagely produce 2.47dB improvement in the PSNR of side information.
