Abstract

Thermal pushing forming is an effective technology for manufacturing bending pipes. In order to save the cost of the products by optimum of process, a commercial software Superform of MSC was used to simulate thermal pushing of titanium bending pipes. The division of net lattice has a great effect on forming of the pipes. The requirement of a precise simulation as well as a reduction of the calculation duration was highly needed, thus different lattice divisions were used. It is found that for the pipe with a small dimension in diameter, only one set of unit is used to make a whole simulation, while on the contrary, the mixture of different of lattices could be needed to overcome the difficulty for the simulation.
