Abstract
As the global economy progresses and environmental challenges intensify, the risks to human safety escalate. In response to these mounting concerns, the Vicinagearth Safety (VS) framework has been introduced. This framework encompasses low-altitude, underwater, and cross-domain safety, addressing environmental, technological, and near-ground threats. The primary objective of VS is to develop proactive measures to mitigate these risks and ensure community well-being through interdisciplinary collaboration among experts in environmental science, engineering, social science, technology, and policy. The cross integration of various disciplines and technological fields, such as energy and power, is of great significance for national defense security, social stability, and economic development. This editorial highlights the cutting-edge advancements in the methods and technologies associated with Vicinagearth Safety and outlines significant directions for future research in this critical field.
