Abstract
Air-breathing hypersonic vehicle (AHV) has been the next generation single stage to orbit vehicle and hypersonic cruise vehicle. The frame/engine integration is different from the conventional vehicle, the method for the aerodynamics of the conventional vehicle is not fit for this vehicle-In this paper, a method of aerodynamic analysis for air-breathing hypersonic vehicle has been provided. Two-dimensional Newtonian theory was utilized to characterize the aerodynamic pressure distribution on the fore-body, whereas two dimensional shock expansion theory was used to determine the pressure distribution on the afterbody/nozzle. A one dimensional model was employed to characterize the flow in a Scramjet-type engine. Based on these operations, the whole aerodynamic calculation has been done. The simulation shows that this method could calculate the aerodynamics force and moment of whole vehicle effectively.
