Abstract

A kind of rapid prototype system based on Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) was proposed to develop flight simulator. According to the analysis of flight simulator prototype system components, a distributed computer system based on Ethernet and CAN bus adopting COTS hardware was developed to reduce the hardware cost and improve system reliability and updating capability. High efficiency COTS software was decided based on the software function of prototype system, Matlab/Simulink and RT-Lab sustaining Rapid Control Prototyping was adopted not only realized development and debugging of complex flight system and control loading system but also improved the system developing efficiency and cut down the cycle. COTS advantage was explained based the developed prototype system at last.
