Abstract

We undertook to design and fabricate a prototype LABLTM (Limited-Angle Brushless Torque Motor) to meet the requirements of direct drive actuator of airplane flight control system. It is a special dual-redundancy servo motor. It is characterized by high torque, quick response, high reliability and convenient control. It consists of a single two-pole super-high intrinsic coercive force NdFeB permanent magnet rotor with two symmetric operation windings arrayed separately in stator core slots. Equations for calculating the electromagnetic torque, the electromotive force and the winding inductance of our LABLTM are obtained. The test results indicate that the LABLTM can meet the requirements of direct drive actuator of airplane flight control system.
