Abstract
An efficient strategy for the synthesis of CF3-substituted spiro scaffolds has been developed via cyclopropanation of fluorinated sulfur ylides with 1-azadienes under mild conditions. A structurally diverse set of spiro benzofuranylidene cyclopropanes and spiro indenylidene cyclopropanes have been constructed in good to excellent yields with good to excellent diastereoselectivities.
