Abstract
Titanium and its alloys have been extensively used for aero-engines because of their excellent comprehensive properties. However, some key parts in the high performance military aero-engines require good burn resistance except for good conventional mechanical properties, which drives the development of burn resistant titanium alloys, for example, Alloy C, BTT-1/BTT-3, Ti14, Ti40 and Ti-25V-15Cr-xAl-xC. Alloy C has been practically used for the F119 engine. Ti40 alloy has good burn resistance and good mechanical properties, so that it is a good promising alloy for practical applications.
