Abstract
Effects of various factors such as composition (ratios of HCl TEOS and H2O TEOS) and heat treatment temperature on the crystallization of silica fibers made by the sol-gel method were studied using X-ray diffraction. The results indicate that the crystallization of the final silica fibers is strongly influenced by the composition of the starting solution and the heat treatment process.
