Abstract
High undercooling was achieved in eutectic Ni70.2 Si29.8 alloy melt using glass fluxing combined with cyclic superheating. An unusual interlaced morphology is observed in the as-solidified microstructure. This composite structure is found for the first time. Its forming process can be ascribed to a composite growth concurring with recalescence.
