Abstract

An improvement was achieved in the condensed-products collection system of solid propellant to decrease its complexity and the steady control of operating pressure was obtained. Condensed-products of NEPE propellant under three different operating pressures were collected and then analyzed by means of Mastersizer2000, SEM, EDS and XRD. The results indicate that operating pressure has little effect on the average granularity peak value which lies between 1 and 2μm. Most of particles in the combustion products from aluminum-containing propellant remain spheroid and only a few of large size particles would deform. Usually aluminum powder in propellant would not be exclusively turned into Al2O3.
