Abstract

This paper presents a new design of dual-polarized ultra-wideband (UWB) directional antenna. The antenna consists of four identical conventional UWB monopole antennas. It is excited by signals with equal amplitudes and 180°phase difference. A reflector is applied to achieve directional radiation patterns and improve the antenna gain. Simulated results show that the proposed antenna achieves a frequency range from 1.47 to 5.7 GHz. Relatively stable radiation patterns are observed across the whole operating frequency band.
