Abstract
Autonomous surface craft (ASC), also called autonomous surface vehicle (ASV), is a kind of autonomous marine vehicles without direct operation of human. This paper provides a brief review of autonomous surface crafts in the past years, tracking the development of their basic specifications and special characteristics in a variety of fields. The paper also discusses some mission requirements and technological trends of autonomous surface crafts in future. ICIC International
