Abstract
This paper first introduced a new method of direct tool marking (take advantages of direct laser marking and 2D barcode identification technology) to overcome the difficulties in the field of tool marking and information tracking. The paper had paid the emphases on the discussion of the influences of the method on the reliability of tool identification, velocity of tool identification and mechanical property of tools. This technology may improve the efficiency of tool stock management, shorten tool preparation time, accomplish tool information collecting and tracking during production process.
