Abstract

This paper presents a new method for the hall sensors fault recognition of the rare earth permanent magnet brushless motor (BLDCM). The operation principles of BLDCM under the healthy and fault conditions are analyzed theoretically and phase current waves are studied in detail. A general frequency methodology for hall sensors fault recognition based on Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and Wavelet de-noising theory is derived. Finally, a fault detection scheme is implemented based on dSPACE real-time simulation system and experiment results are given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.
