Abstract
To adapt to a wider range of application prospects, automatic guided vehicles (AGVs) need to have multiple charging methods. In this paper, a four-port integrated wired/wireless charging system for power and auxiliary batteries in AGVs is proposed. In the wired mode, the DC source can be connected to the compensating capacitor in parallel. In the wireless mode, a receiving coil with a series compensating capacitor is used to receive energy from the primary transmitting coil. In this way, the wired and wireless charging systems are integrated in the secondary side. The power and auxiliary batteries are connected to the H-bridge converter on different ports. Such an integrated design allows both batteries to be charged simultaneously. In addition, the power and auxiliary batteries can be powered in both directions in case of an emergency. Mathematical models of the proposed system are developed, and the working principles are discussed. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed system, experimental prototypes are established. The agreement between experimental and mathematical results indicates the effectiveness of the proposed system.
