An integrate VWS-TOPSIS-PSO approach and application in overall design parameter optimization of Ballistic Missile

Abstract

In order to solve problems that the traditional single-objective optimization method is difficult to meet the multi-objective optimization of the ballistic missile(BM) overall design parameters; and the multidisciplinary design optimization method is difficult to use in the concept design due to its complexity. Therefore, a multi-attribute optimization approach combined Variable Weight Synthesis and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (VWS-TOPSIS) with the principle of particle swarm algorithm is proposed to solve these existing problems. Based on the standard particle swarm optimization(PSO) algorithm, the variable weight synthesis principle is used to construct the variable weight state variables; and TOPSIS evaluation method is applied to calculate the feasible Euclidean distance of particles in each group. The Euclidean distance is taken as the evaluation object function to overall parameters design of BM. The example results show that VWS-TOPSIS-PSO method can solve the problem of multi-parameter and multi-attribute optimization and selection in the conceptual design effectively. Compared with the traditional design method, the proposed method is characterized by the advantages of clear concept, flexible method and high efficiency.
