Abstract

This paper presents a novel end - fire circularly polarized filtering antenna based on substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) for Ka - band satellite wireless communication. The structure consists of a SIW resonator cavity and a SIW circularly polarized end - fire radiation source. The four radiation poles in the band - pass filtering response are the combined effect of the fourth - order direct coupling of the SIW cavity. The SIW radiation source can achieve end - fire circular polarization and features a simple structure that is easy to manufacture. Simulation results show that the antenna has a - {15dB impedance bandwidth (29.5 GHz-31.2 GHz) and a 12.9% 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth (28.5 GHz-32.4 GHz). In addition, the antenna has a gain range of approximately 4.2 dBc in the operating frequency band, with stable in-band gain and good out - of - band suppression.
