Abstract

A discrete adjoint approach is developed to get the object gradient to design variables regading Euler equations as the governing equations. Both the adjoint equations and the flow governing equations are solved by LU-SGS method. The examples show that this method acquires gradient quickly and accurately. A wing and a global aircraft are optimized, shock wave is weakenld, and the total drag is reduced.
