Abstract

A multi-characteristic parameters fusion selection method combining information entropy with project pursuit theory is presented in view of the disadvantage of one-sided appraisal for the selection method based on single geomagnetic characteristic parameter. The effects of geomagnetic characteristic parameters such as standard deviation, roughness, correlation and entropy which reflect respectively the geomagnetism global wave, smoothness, degree of correlation and amount of information on matching region selection are considered comprehensively. A geomagnetic matching selection model based on projecting pursuit is established, the best projection direction is solved by using a genetic algorithm, and then a total evaluation indicator is given. Simulation tests are done by using the proposed method in selected areas; Simulation results indicate that the matching error is smaller for geomagnetism aided navigation in the area of high evaluation indicator.
