Abstract

A hybrid technique for combining ray tracing with method of moments-physical optics (MoM-PO) method is proposed in this letter. To ensure the continuity of boundary current, the current is expanded by RWG basis functions to establish matrix equation. Considering the effect of multiple reflections, the incident excitation voltage is obtained by the propagation paths of illuminated rays, and the coupling transfer matrix is determined through diffuse ray tracing and mirror theorem. By utilizing this technique, the proposed current-based MoM-shooting and bouncing ray (CB-MoM-SBR) method and efficient iterative MoM-SBR (EI-MoM-SBR) method can accurately and efficiently solve scattering and radiating problems of electrically large multiple reflection targets.
