Abstract

Aiming at achieving efficient and high-precision imaging in complex radar imaging modes, a fast BP imaging algorithm using subaperture grouping is proposed in this paper. The subapertures within each group are fused by the wavenumber spectrum under the same coordinate system, and the groups are fused recursively by the fast BP imaging algorithm. The limitation of the subaperture bandwidth when using a unified coordinate system for FFBP imaging is derived and analyzed. The proposed algorithm can achieve satisfying imaging performance without subaperture overlap, and improves the accuracy and efficiency by reducing interpolation operations of the FFBP algorithm. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified on simulated and real measured SAF data.
