Abstract
When water lubricated bearings operate under complex and harsh working conditions, the transition of their lubrication state is inevitable, which means that most bearings will operate in a mixed lubrication state. At this point, micro convex contact will occur on the surface between journal and bearing, and the lubrication and friction wear characteristics of the bearing will be affected by the roughness peak and elastic deformation effect. In this study, a numerical model of a water-lubricated bearing under mixed lubrication is established using MATLAB. The effects of operating conditions, structural parameters, surface asperities, and elastic deformation on the static and dynamic characteristics of the bearing are investigated. Through this study, the degree of influence of four surface conditions on the lubrication performance of water lubricated bearings under different working conditions and structures can be determined. The findings provide theoretical support for the optimization of bearing structural parameters, the reduction of operational risks, and the improvement of service reliability.
