Abstract
Aiming at the problem that the influence of winding tension on the bearing performance of carbon filament⁃wound vessel is not clear, based on ABAQUSTM software, a set of user⁃friendly, self⁃selective and efficient plug⁃in tool was developed. In comparison to traditional modeling approach, the plug⁃in tool enables to automatically and efficiently accomplish the model setup. Based on the plug⁃in tool, the parametric analysis on the bursting performance of carbon filament⁃wound vessel under different winding tension systems was carried out. The effectiveness of the numerical model was verified by bursting test. For the vessels with diameters of ϕ155 mm and ϕ474 mm, the layer⁃by⁃layer degression winding tension systems, including 90 N⁃80 N⁃60 N and 200 N180 N⁃160 N, will improve the burst performance of the vessel. For 20 N or 30 N degression tension systems, the burst pressure of vessel with ϕ474 mm diameter gradually decreases with the reducing inner tension. When the degression amplitude of the tension system increases, the burst pressure of the vessel tends to be stable, and the decreasing proportion declines from 16.79% to 3.05%. Moreover, the strain level in the transition area between the dome and cylinder parts is the highest, indicating the weak position of carbon filament⁃wound vessel.
