Abstract

Mode localization phenomenon is proposed by Nobel Prize winner ANDERSON in 1958, which has a great impact on the understanding of the electron conduction processes in disordered solids, and it is an important discovery in the field of solid state physics. In recent years, the phenomenon of mode localization has been applied to design of sensors. The mode-localized sensors take the amplitude ratios between different resonators as the output metric and realize the ultra-high sensitivity. the relationship between amplitude ratio and system structure parameters and explains are revealed how to improve the sensitivity of mode localization sensors. The design rules of mode-localized sensors are given by several examples of mode-localized sensors.
