Abstract

Porous polymers exhibit many unique structural advantages such as high specific surface area, controllable pore structure, low density, and tailorable surface/skeleton chemical environment. Therefore, they have found promising applications in gas storage, catalysis, sensing, drug delivery and separations, thus attracting an increasing level of research interest. The recent decade witnessed the discovery and flourishing of various new porous polymers, which have become the "new favorite" in the field of materials and chemistry. However, the development of porous polymers with precise control of pore structure, controllable construction of nanomorphology and customized integration of specific functional components, still remains an ongoing effort towards high-end applications. Prof. Wu Dingcai and co-workers from Sun Yat-sen University have made significant contributions to the design, construction and task-specific applications of porous polymers. The objective of this article is to present briefly latest progress achieved in porous polymers from their group.
