Abstract
Partial discharges(PDs)are the main causes of insulation deterioration of electrical equipments. There is an urgent need for a reliable,low-cost PDs detection and analysis system currently. In this paper,by employing four MEMS-on-fiber ultrasonic sensors,a four-channel high-speed sampling system based on USB2.0 and Labview is designed and developed to collect ultrasonic signals in different orientations generated by the PDs,as well as to analyze and locate its actual position. The results show that the system has good performance in PDs localization, whose positioning precision within 2 m×2 m×0.9 m space is 2 cm~5 cm,and is expected to be widely used for monitoring the working status of electrical equipments.
