Abstract
The collision behavior of high-temperature aluminum/alumina droplets with walls has an important impact on flow field, thermal protection, and performance of solid rocket motors(SRMs),and is a key issue that urgently needs to be solved in the basic research field of SRMs. It is of great significance to reveal the law and mechanism of high-temperature aluminum/alumina droplets colliding with walls and establish scientific and accurate prediction models for refined design of SRMs. In this paper, the latest research progress in high-temperature aluminum/alumina droplets colliding with walls from the aspects of slag deposition and two-phase flow in SRMs,experimental methods, collision law and mechanism, force and thermal effects during collision process and prediction model are reviewed. The important achievements in this field are summarized and evaluated, and the shortcomings in current researches and the suggestions for future study direction are proposed.
