Abstract
The microstructural and textural developments of pilgered TA18 thin-walled seamless tube were investigated after stress-relieving heat treatments with different holding time. Based on electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) technique, microstructures of the cold-rolled and annealed tubes in transverse cross-section plane were reconstructed to analyze the recrystallization behavior, and texture differences among the materials were compared by pole figure and orientation distribution function (ODF). The results showed that the stress-relieved tubes were still in the nucleation stage of primary recrystallization as most of the deformed microstructure being retained and only a few recrystallized grains being captured. No significant changes were deduced from the pole figure of (0001), but double tilt basal texture along TD plane were found during annealing process. However, further investigation from the detailed ODFs revealed progressive primary recrystallization with increasing holding time, mainly enhanced <1120> fiber and weakened (0001) fiber to some extent.
