Abstract
As a critical component of transportation equipment, power batteries are playing an increasingly important role in the aviation sector amid the rapid rise of the low⁃altitude industry. Achieving low⁃cost power bat⁃ teries is not only essential for reducing the overall manufacturing cost of electric aircraft and expanding market adop⁃ tion, but also a key driver for the large⁃scale commercialization of green aviation and the low⁃altitude economy. Cur⁃ rently, the technological pathways toward cost reduction mainly include materials optimization, innovations in manufacturing processes and structural design, as well as battery recycling and second⁃life utilization. This paper reviews recent low⁃cost technological advancements in cathode materials, anode materials, electrolytes, and separa⁃ tors; summarizes the current status of system⁃level integration optimization and packaging process improvements; and elaborates on battery recycling processes and second⁃life utilization technologies. Finally, the future development directions and technical challenges of low⁃cost power batteries for aviation applications are discussed.
