Abstract

An experimental study of the boundary layer suction (BLS) on a cascade suction surface by using the Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) was carried out in a high subsonic cascade wind tunnel, and the BLS technique was proved to be feasible and effective on the boundary layer separation suppression. The experimental results are proved to be credible by compared with the numerical simulation results. And the experimental results also indicate that the appropriate BLS position is one of the important factors on the boundary layer separation suppression. When the BLS position is just in the region between the separation starting-point and the serious separation zone, the boundary layer separation can be suppressed and the flow field structure can be improved obviously.
